Parts of Speech (शब्द-भेद)
Words are spoken or written together in a specific manner to create meaningful sentences. The interpretation of the message can be changed in how the words are arranged or used. In order to get the proper sequence of words to deliver the correct message we must understand the different categories or parts of speech. Eight different parts of speech have been identified in the English language, on the basis of which one can create and deliver a sentence with the proper content and message.
किसी भी वाक्य को लिखने या बोलने के लिए शब्दों के समूह का उपयोग किया जाता है। वाक्य में मौजूद संदेश को सही आव और अर्थ में पेश करन पाना ही एक अच्छे भाषा के जानकार की सही पहचान है। शब्दों के उपयोग के प्रकार और वाक्य के भाव से तय होता है कि वाक्य किस श्रेणी का है। शब्दों के सही उपयोग को समझने के लिये विशेषज्ञों ने उन्हें 8 मुख्य वर्गों में बाँटा है। इन वर्गों को English भाषा में Parts of Speech और हिंदी शब्द-भेद कहते हैं।

1. Noun (संज्ञा)
2. Adjective (विशेषण)
3. Pronoun (सर्वनाम)
4. Verb (क्रिया)
5. Adverbs (क्रिया विशेषण)
6. Prepositions (सम्बन्ध सूचक अव्यय)
7. Conjunction (समुच्चय बोधक अव्यय)
8. Interjection (विस्मयादि बोधक अव्यय)
